Steve's Gourmet Olives started the new year off with 3 unique events in January. First was the Local Evolution Market at Darwin Brewery

on January 9th. This event will be held the 1st Friday of every month and is a collaboration between Geraldson's Community Farm and Darwin Brewery in Bradenton. It features lots of local vendors, live music, games, and craft beer. It has a fun family vibe with foodies, hipsters and craft beer lovers galore. We will be regular vendors at this market.  Then the 20th Annual Einstein on Food & Wine was held at MOSI on January 17th, and it was truly a party worthy of a 20th annual celebration. Steve's Gourmet Olives  was featured in the VIP lounge along with event host ABC Fine Wine & Spirits at the Martini Madness table. Follow this Photos link for more event photos. Finally the 100th Annual Gasparilla Invasion occurred on January 30th in downtown Tampa. The weather was picture perfect, the crowd was enormous, and there was fun had by all. Look for special promotions in Tampa Bay area ABC Fine Wine & Spirits locations to "Party Like a Pirate with  Steve's Gourmet Olives  for Gasparilla". Our Krewe of Pandora float even caught some television time as we were lined up in front of Parade Marshall Mario Lopez's float. Opa!

New Recipe - Curried Crockpot Pork

Comfort food at its best. This simple recipe with pork loin, peppers, onions, mushrooms and olives in a savory red sauce cooks slowly allhttps://sites.google.com/a/stevesgourmetolives.com/stevesolives/Newsletters_Archives/2015-2february/Curried%20crockpot%20photo.jpg day while you are away and is ready when you get home. The curry gives it a nice international flair, and the habanero peppers give it a good kick. Both are optional, and the pork can be substituted with chicken or beef. It is a hearty dinner for the whole family, and tastes even better on day 2 or 3. Follow this Recipes link to print the recipe. Look for a You Tube video soon featuring the preparation of this dish.  Steve and I have decided to alternate creating the monthly recipe, and we are planning on creating a You Tube video of each recipe. He is definitely the more gourmet chef with wonderful culinary creations, I lean towards simple one pot dishes. So hopefully we offer a variety of recipes to suit many needs.

New Item - Darwin Charapa Olives

In preparation for Tampa Bay Beer Week, we are cooking up a batch of specialty olives marinated in Darwin Brewing Company's signature

https://sites.google.com/a/stevesgourmetolives.com/stevesolives/Newsletters_Archives/2015-2february/charapa%20olives.jpg
Charapa Spiced Porter. This dark, full-bodied 7% porter is brewed with Ahi Charapita peppers, which are yellow Amazonian peppers, and dark chocolate. This craft beer meshes particularly well with the secret Caribbean spices, fresh garlic and habanero peppers we add.  We have been collaborating with Darwin Brewing Company in Bradenton, Cigar City Brew Pub in Tampa and Green Bench Brewery in St Pete for several months.  Look on our Events Tab for more unique collaborations and lots of promotional events coming up soon over Tampa Bay Beer Week with Steve's Gourmet Olives .

Product Descriptions & History

Steve's Gourmet Olives  is a Tampa-based gourmet food business specializing in wine-marinated olives. We start with premium olives imported from Greece and Italy. First we pour off the salt-water brine and replace it with a bold, spicy red zinfandel wine from California.

Then we add fresh garlic & peppers and secret herbs & spices. These are made in small batches by the two of us for a truly unique and artisanal product. There are currently 6 flavors a) Mild & Spicy Greek Olives - these are Greek Kalamata olives, your classic Greek salad olive, with no pit inside. These pair well with Mediterranean pasta salads or anything with feta cheese b) Mild & Spicy Italian Olives - there is a medley of Italian olives in every jar and they still have the pits inside. They make a great antipasto or anything with a red sauce c) Mild & Spicy Pirate Olives - these are made with the Italian olives in the same red wine marinade with secret Caribbean spices added. They have a complex flavor that continues to unfold in your mouth. This is our best seller and our signature recipe. We love this recipe and modify it routinely, replacing the wine with various local craft beers. These 6 flavors of wine-marinated olives are currently sold at 18 ABC Fine Wine & Spirits locations in Central Florida, see our Locations Tab on the website. You can find us weekly at an ABC Fine Wine tasting event sampling our olives, see our Events Tab on the website for more details.
